The city of Hamburg has for centuries been the main port for what is now the northern Germany. The city has seen many rulers come and go like the Holy Roman Empire and France before it finally became part of Germany. But besides from the 2nd world war then Hamburg has had a fairly peaceful history.

The city offers a large historical city centre, with beautiful buildings, monuments and squares. And even though large parts of the city was destroyed by bombing raids during WWII, then there are still plenty of historical buildings and landmarks to tell the tale of the city.
