The city of Augsburg in Germany dates back more than 2000 years, and it has for centuries benefitted from the trade between Northern Europe and first the Roman Empire and Italy and Southern Europe – Which shows in the cities architecture.

The city has expanded over the centuries, and lots of the original buildings can still be found in the city center.

Unfortunately, most of Augsburg was either destroyed or severally damaged by allied bombing raids during World War II, but the historical city center has been restored to it’s former splendor and can nowadays be enjoyed on foot.
